We are looking for Arabic or Rohingya speaking volunteers to provide language support to adult migrants and refugees attending our monthly Women’s Group in Zillmere. Volunteers play an important role in creating welcome, inclusion and belonging.

Volunteer opportunities available with the Darebin Intercultural Centre! The Darebin English Pronunciation Program supports adults who have English as a second language, to focus on improving their communication and pronunciation. Participants work with a volunteer teacher one-on-one, enabling them to practice with language that is relevant to their lives and at an appropriate level.

SisterWorks is a partner of UN Women, to deliver UN Women’ Second Chance Education pilot project in Australia. SisterWorks provides training programs to the most vulnerable women with little English of refugee and migrant backgrounds. As a Sewing Teacher, you will be working in the SisterWorks design lab, empowering women by coordinating their sewing classes and teaching new skills.
