Vinnies Port Pirie is a lovely community shop with a friendly team. A great place for long-time locals and those new to the area who want to get involved in their community. Vinnies shop volunteers do a variety of work.

If you have spare time during the day would you like to volunteer for one of SA’s leading charities. We would love to have you join our team.

Volunteer tasks can include:

  • Providing helpful and courteous customer service – greeting people and answering queries
  • Processing sales – using a simple computer register, EFTPOS/credit card facilities and cash handling
  • Re-stocking shop floor – displaying and merchandising
  • Stock preparation – sorting, cleaning, steaming and pricing
  • Store housekeeping – tidying, dusting, and cleaning
  • General shop duties
  • Drivers are welcome

  • The ability to work well in a team environment
  • A friendly and compassionate personality
  • Ability to listen and respond courteously
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy
  • Have sensitivity to the values of people of other faiths, cultures and lifestyles
  • Willing to follow Vinnies Policies and Procedures
  • Undertake training as required
  • Driver’s licence is essential for driving positions
  • Minimum age 15 years

All Vinnies volunteers (minimum age 15 years) require a National Police Clearance prior to commencing. Note: This is at no cost to you.

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9.30 am - 3.30 pm FOH/BOH
