About this opportunity

Vinnies Waymouth Street is located in the heart of the city and offers a UNIQUE volunteer experience. This VIBRANT busy retail shop is aimed at the young and young-at-heart.

Vinnies shop volunteers do a variety of tasks including Front of House (customer service role) and Back of House duties.

Tasks may include the following:

  • Providing helpful and courteous customer service – greeting people and answering queries.
  • Processing sales – using a simple computer register, EFTPOS/credit card facilities and cash handling.
  • Re-stocking shop floor – displaying and merchandising.
  • Stock preparation – sorting, cleaning, steaming and pricing.
  • Store housekeeping – tidying, dusting, and cleaning.
  • General shop duties.
  • Sorting and cleaning donated goods.

We are looking for people who are RELIABLE and can ideally commit to a full day shift on a REGULAR BASIS (3-6 months+).

All Vinnies volunteers (minimum age 15 years) require a National Police Clearance prior to commencing. Note: This is at no cost to you.

* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.

Time Required

Monday-Wednesday 10 am - 4 pm (full 6-hour shift on a regular basis commitment)
