Host volunteers for children with disabilities
About this opportunity
The Interchange Outer East Host Program matches a child (0-18) with a disability to a volunteer host or host family. The host spends time with this child on a regular basis, any where from a couple of hours to a full weekend. Hosts take on many different roles – a second family, a friend, a mentor. Hosting provides something for everyone. The child with a disability gains new experiences, new social contacts and a break from home. Their family gets a rest from their caring role. Hosts gain a new friend, new experiences and an appreciation of their own life.
