About this opportunity
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Gosford Hospital is run by friendly volunteers and is a welcoming home-like space where family can take time out from long hours at their child's hospital bedside so they can rest and recharge. The Family Room Volunteer is there to: *Meet, greet and provide a warm welcome to families visiting the Family Room *Explain the Family Room facilities and programs to families *Assist families as needed *General duties (including keeping the Family Room clean eg cleaning shower after every use and adhering to strict Covid-19 policies) *Assist families with clothes washing and food preparation *Report any WHS and maintenance issues to staff As a volunteer at our Family Room, your role includes: *Opening up the Family Room and being there to provide a place of refuge and support for the families and carers of sick or injured children in Gosford Hospital *Providing an empathetic, friendly environment within the room for sick children and their families *Listening and supporting *General light housekeeping *Take care of others and themselves and ask for help when needed *Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all staff, guests and all volunteers within the Family Room and throughout the Hospital

All volunteers will receive free parking during their shift at the hospital.
Monday to Friday - 8am - 11am, 11am - 2pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am - 2pmSuitable for
