About this opportunity

Volunteer visiting is a rewarding volunteer role; Developing a friendship and share life experiences with a socially isolated resident in an Aged Care Facility. Volunteer needed to visit a resident with Dementia in the Burwood area. We need people over 18 years of age who love to chat, are patient and enjoy the company of older people. You will be required to make contact at least fortnightly • You will need to attend an online meeting, complete a police check and mandatory training. Once all the volunteer paper work is completed, you will be matched to the resident and supported by the Volunteer Coordinator This is a very rewarding volunteer position. The following skills are highly desirable in a volunteer visitor:

  • A genuine empathy and understanding of older people
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • A commitment to developing a strong relationship with an older person
  • Willingness to act with integrity, respect, confidentiality and dignity and the ability to be flexible


Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . Flu vaccination . National Police Certificate *.

Mandatory training
