About this opportunity
Central Adelaide Palliative Care Service (CAPCS) provide palliative care services over a large geographical area in the western, city and eastern regions of Adelaide metropolitan area. Our patients are from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
We are seeking Volunteers to support patients and families in the palliative care ward at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Volunteers on the ward provide company and a listening ear, offer hand and foot massage, set up music for relaxation and pleasure in patients rooms, read or write letters for patients, accompany patients for a walk or sit in the garden and generally support patients and families. Volunteers are members of the multidisciplinary palliative care team.

Please Note: As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance)
3 hours once a week - day to be negotiated with current vacancies available to relieve for planned leave and Sunday weekly.Type of work
