About this opportunity
Responsibilities: 1. To assist youth members to develop and implement creative, effective and wellbalanced programs relevant to their needs, which further their understanding and acceptance of the principles of Guiding. 2. To facilitate self-government in the Unit, enabling decisions to be made in a democratic manner. 3. To encourage youth members to progress through the Australian Guide Program and maintain links with other Units. 4. To be responsible for the keeping of accurate Unit and financial records and to present the financial records annually for audit. 5. To report on Unit activities as required and deal promptly with all correspondence. 6. To help other members of Girl Guides Australia understand the principles and methods of Guiding. 7. To keep up to date with changes in policy and procedures. 8. To understand her responsibility for the health and safety of the girls in her care. 9. To work as a member of the District team. 10. To promote and maintain Guiding standards within the community. 11. To communicate effectively with the parents or guardians of the girls in her Unit.

Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
Personal Requirements: 1. To be a member of a State Girl Guide Organisation. 2. To demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Guiding and be prepared to make or renew the Guide Promise. 3. To have an understanding of, and interest in, girls of the relevant age group. 4. To attend and participate in leadership training courses as required. 5. To hold a current qualification as a Leader of Youth in the Australian Adult Leadership Program. 6. To show willingness to continue to develop her personal and leadership skills. 7. To wear Guide uniform when undertaking the role to which the Leader is appointed
