Event Helper, Perth Race Bib Collection, 2025 Chevron City to Surf for Activ

Recreation One off - an event Perth WA

About this opportunity

The Chevron City to Surf for Activ is WA's most loved community sporting event and raises much needed funds for the Activ Foundation that supports people living with disabilities in Western Australia. Celebrating it's 50th anniversary the 2025 event is back with a 12km and 4km family fun events and promises to be a wonderful day for everyone involved.   The event requires wonderful volunteers to help with pre-event roles at our Race Bib Collection day. Participants in the event must collect their race bib and items before the big event day and we need amazing volunteers to help with this process happening Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th of August.   The collection will be taking place in the WA Museum Boola Bardip in the Hackett Hall. Getting to volunteering there are many public transport options with the Perth Train station close by.   During the day there will be various roles with all training provided before the volunteer shift. Volunteers may be required to use a computer tablet to scan in participants details and then hand them the corresponding race bib and event t-shirt. They may also be asked to help with customer service and directing people to the correct area when entering the building. Some standing and light lifting may be required.   Volunteers do not need experience but need to like working as a team and enjoy working with the community. If volunteers are under the age of 17 at the time of volunteering, they are required to have a parent or guardian volunteer with them.   All volunteers will be required to wear a 50th Anniversary Chevron City to Surf for Activ Volunteer T-shirt on the day which is then theirs to keep. They will also receive a volunteer pack with water and snacks for the shift.   In appreciation of volunteers giving up their time they will also receive a Chevron City to Surf for Activ "Thank You" certificate and any hours required for study or school can be signed off.   A great role to be done with friends, work colleagues, family or just as a way to meet new people.
