FIJIAN-INDIAN Aged Care Volunteer Visitor

Seniors & Aged Care Regular - more than 6 months Across: Heidelberg VIC, Heidelberg Heights VIC, Macleod VIC, Preston VIC, Reservoir VIC, Watsonia VIC

About this opportunity

Our volunteer visitors are empathetic, kind and come from all walks of life; they find ways to connect and show genuine appreciation for the happiness of others. They play a vital role in the life of an older person through ongoing friendship.

A Fijian-Indian lady living in an Aged Care Home in Reservoir would enjoy having conversations with a female friend who understands her culture.

We have seen many wonderful friendships formed through:

  • Sharing stories
  • Helping with a hobby, interest or activity
  • Listening to music
  • Playing a board game

Making a new friend can change the life of an older person experiencing loneliness and isolation. It can improve physical, mental and emotional health.
