Youth Group - Friday Frenzy Volunteer

About this opportunity

The Friday Frenzy Volunteer role involves working with a group of children and young people within a team of dedicated and likeminded individuals.

There is a primary school group and a high school group, each group goes for 2 hours with a snack break halfway. During these groups, we facilitate group games, crafts and supper.

#Responsibilities:

Program Assistance:

*Collaborate with program coordinators to plan and execute a variety of youth programs and activities.

*Contribute creative ideas to enhance program content and engagement.

Youth Engagement:

*Interact positively with program participants, providing mentorship and guidance.

*Foster a safe and inclusive space where youth feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Event Supervision:

*Assist in the supervision of youth during program events and activities.

*Ensure the safety and well-being of participants throughout the duration of programs.

Collaboration:

*Work closely with fellow volunteers and program coordinators to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.

*Provide feedback on the program content.

Mandatory Reporting Guidelines:

*Understand and work within the reporting guidelines in the ACT.

*Complete the Keeping Children and Young People Safe eLearn training.

*Flag any concerns with management.

Additional requirements

Working with Vulnerable People Check .

**Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card:** All volunteers in the program must hold a WWVP card.

**Understands Mandatory Reporting guidelines:** Has completed the Keeping Children and Young People Safe eLearn training. We can help you with this during induction.

**Reliability:** Dependable and committed to fulfilling volunteer responsibilities.

**Team Player:** Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

**Passion for Youth Development:** Demonstrated interest in supporting the growth and development of young people.

**Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Food Safety and Training:** Volunteers are required to complete Food Safety and Training. This will be provided to you during induction.



Desirable Criteria

**Previous Experience:** Previous experience in youth programs, mentoring, or related fields is advantageous but not required. Previous experience running groups is also desired.

**First Aid Certificate**

Time Required

Time Commitment: -Volunteers are expected to commit to at least 2 programs out of the 8 ran per month. Each program goes for 3.5 hours. -Primary school volunteers are expected to commit to 3PM-6:30PM -High school volunteers are expected to commit to 6PM-9:30PM -A planning group is run on Tuesday mornings, 09:45AM-12PM if you would like to attend
