Reuse & Recycling Sorters

About this opportunity

Key duties between 2pm and 6pm include:

  • Explaining to community members how the drop off process works
  • Sorting through and categorising the items being dropped off
  • Helping work out what can be reused vs what needs to be recycled
  • Weighing items and writing down information

And if you are available before 2pm there is also the setting up of our space which requires moving of large and heavy fixtures and putting signs up.

Time Required

We need people to come in on Wednesdays between 1:30pm and 6pm, with a minimum of 2 hours per shift. Ideally you would be able to commit to at least one shift that runs from 1:30pm to 6pm once a month (or more if possible).

Training

We will provide all training including assessing items for reuse vs recycling, how to use the scales and systems we use to track waste, how to set up, OH&S.
