About this opportunity

Uniting Social Connections Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love. We are seeking a volunteer to come and join us on a Lunch Outing on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Volunteer role:

  • Support 1 or 2 people with transport to and from the venue in Rye.
  • Regular contact and reporting to your Volunteer Coordinator
  • Support the lunch outing participants with friendly conversation and
    guidance throughout the outing
  • Online learning and mentoring from a Volunteer Coordinator

About you:

  • Friendly and punctual
  • A Strong understanding of professional boundaries
  • Good communication skills
  • Respect for diversity and individuality.
  • Enjoy sharing stories and interacting with people.
  • Willingness to obtain annual Flu Vaccinations
  • Willingness to use your own vehicle to support participants with transportation.
  • (desirable) Knowledge/experience working with people living with poor memory, use of 4WW frames.

This monthly outing provides a recreational and social outlet for participants. The role will require you to draw on your group facilitation skills while supporting people to build valuable connections and enjoy group activities as part of their social goals. Current Australian driver’s licence and road worthy vehicle essential. Induction training, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided. Interested?
