Recruiter for Volunteering Roles (Virtual, Home Based)

Animal Welfare Regular - more than 6 months Queensland QLD

About this opportunity

Furry Friends ARQ is a not-for-profit organisation located in SEQ dedicated to minimising the large number of companion animals killed every year in pounds and shelters; and to educate people about the benefits of responsible pet ownership. Unlike traditional shelter models, Furry Friends ARQ admnistration is wholly virtual, with animals being carefully placed with volunteer Foster Carers until they are adopted.

The Role: We are seeking two (2) experienced Recruiters to attract talented volunteers to Furry Friends and maintain volunteering numbers to meet organisational needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking end-to-end recruitment activities.
  • Managing recruitment channels to attract suitably qualified candidates.
  • Performing employment activities up to onboarding, such as conducting the onboarding briefing.
  • Performing exit procedures for volunteers who are leaving or transferring to other divisions.

Requirements: To be considered, you will have:

  • Minimum Cert IV or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • At least 1 years’ proven experience in recruitment.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Regular access to a computer with internet connection (at your own expense).
  • Initiative to work autonomously and remotely.
  • Genuine desire and commitment to help rehome companion animals.
  • Gmail and Google Suite experience.
  • Messenger / Facebook
  • Willingness to learn management software (Shelter Manager)

Additional requirements

All applicants must be able to commit 5 hours per week to the role and be available to attend the weekly team meeting which is usually held in the evenings after work hours. Whilst working hours are flexible, responsiveness to both organisational needs as well as candidates is crucial in order to attract and recruit selected talent.

In return, this is a great opportunity to gain experience working within a virtual team environment, whilst making a direct and positive impact on the lives of homeless pets.

Interested? We would love to hear from you!

All applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia.
