Strategic Grant Planning: Staying well-informed about the specific funding needs within the organisation's identified areas. This involves understanding and aligning grant-seeking efforts with the organisation's goals and priorities.

Thorough Research: Conducting comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities that match Picabeen's mission and initiatives. This involves evaluating the eligibility criteria, funding priorities, and deadlines of various grant providers.

Collaborative Grant Development: Working closely with the Centre Manager to develop well-crafted and persuasive grant applications. This includes drafting compelling narratives that effectively communicate the organisation's objectives and impact.

Submission Management: Overseeing the entire grant application submission process. This involves ensuring that all required documents and information are submitted accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to grant providers' guidelines and deadlines.

These responsibilities collectively contribute to the successful acquisition of grants, enabling Picabeen Community Centre to fund vital projects and programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Northwest Brisbane residents.

Skills, experience and qualities

  1. Grant Writing Experience: Demonstrated prior experience in grant writing, showcasing a track record of successful grant applications.
  2. Advanced Written Communication: Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive grant proposals.
  3. Understanding of Picabeen: The ability to grasp and appreciate the diverse work and overarching vision of Picabeen Community Centre, or the willingness to swiftly acquire this knowledge.
  4. Time Management and Organisation: Strong time management and organisational skills, essential for meeting grant application deadlines and managing multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Online Grant Platforms: Proficiency in navigating online grant application platforms, ensuring accurate and efficient submission processes.
  6. Confidentiality: Capability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
