Connect through games, dancing and learning new skills! East Burwood

Seniors & Aged Care Regular - less than 6 months Burwood East VIC

About this opportunity

If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

We are currently looking for Volunteer Activity Helpers at our East Burwood AgeWell Centre. This is a fun and exciting volunteer role that is perfect for a friendly person who enjoys facilitating groups and using their creativity to shape activities. A typical day at East Burwood AgeWell Centre may involve facilitating a game of scrabble, working on a puzzle together, having a sing-along, engaging in arts and craft lessons, and then getting everyone around the table for a shared lunch. There will also be opportunities to get the group out for lovely walks or outings to local museums, movies etc.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to develop your group facilitation skills, learn something new every day and have fun while doing so! You will leave each day feeling fulfilled knowing you have made a meaningful contribution to the lives of people in your community.

This Centre operates Tuesday and Friday. We can be flexible to accommodate your needs.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
