Mobile Laundry Van Operator

About this opportunity

Our van features two washing machines, two dryers, a generator and an in-built water tank, so that the van can run two cycles of washing per machine. As a typical wash and dry cycle will take about 1 hour.

We work in conjunction with the Merriwa Salvos, parking the Van out the front of their office each Friday to be able to offer regular assistance to those in need.

We are seeking volunteers to collect the Van from our Balcatta office and drive it to Salvos Merriwa, assisting with the laundry service and then returning it to Balcatta.

We are also seeking volunteers which may not wish to drive the van however are happy to come along or meet the van at Merriwa.

The purpose of your role would be to assist with operating the Positive Spin Mobile Laundry Van during your shift while engaging with users of the van and other volunteers.

Engage in positive and genuine conversations with all service users, other volunteers, service partners and members of the public.

Users are encouraged to load their own laundry into the machines however if necessary, you may be required to load the articles of clothing into the machines for them.

Selection Criteria

Have the physical ability to operate equipment such as the washing machines, dryers, generator/power, and hoses/tanks.

Be able to comprehend and adhere to all safety and operational procedures.

Demonstrate the values of Positive Spin and their mission to bridge the welfare gap that currently exists and put a positive spin on the lives of those in need.

Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) .
