Multiple Sclerosis (MS) - Friendly Visitor

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Blackburn South VIC

About this opportunity

Multiple Sclerosis is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll, have a cuppa and a chat, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

Would you like to visit an older person experiencing social isolation and make a real difference in their life? We have a man who lives in an aged care home who is seeking some company. His interests include sports, current affairs as well as dogs.

You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to weekly connections/visits or at least fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 12 months/ongoing.

Good English, Italian, Greek or Cantonese communication skills required for current recipients seeking a Community Visitor.

MS believes in a person to person approach and aspire to match you with someone local with shared interests and hobbies. We look forward to hearing from you.
