Multiple Sclerosis (MS) - Friendly Visitor
About this opportunity
Multiple Sclerosis is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll, have a cuppa and a chat, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.
Would you like to visit an older person experiencing social isolation and make a real difference in their life? We have a man with a vision impairment, living in an aged care home who would enjoy walks around the garden and having a good chat.
You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to weekly connections/visits or at least fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 12 months/ongoing.
Good English, Italian, Greek or Cantonese communication skills required for current recipients seeking a Community Visitor.
MS believes in a person to person approach and aspire to match you with someone local with shared interests and hobbies. We look forward to hearing from you.
