About this opportunity

UniSport Australia is seeking Event Crew volunteers to be part of the 2022 Nationals Surfing championship event. This year, Nationals Surfing will be held on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and is expected to see over 100 competitors from across universities in Australia attend the event.

We are looking for Event Crew to assist across all sporting and special event venues to help ensure the successful delivery of the event. Your key tasks and responsibilities will involve:

• Assisting with venue set up and pack down including signage, shade, water, sporting equipment, accreditation stations, competition management area and medal presentations. • Conducting, and assisting with competitor accreditation throughout the events • Assisting with scoring and timekeeping duties and online results entry where required • Beach marshalling duties including ensuring competitors are checked-in for their heat, have correct vest colours, and changing of flag signals during the event.

Key information: • This is an event time role requiring availability for Nationals Surfing (between 8am - 4pm) • Shifts are available each day, or you can volunteer across all days. Most shifts will finish at approximately 2pm • The role involves lifting and shifting of equipment such as signage, marquees, boxes and tables • Some roles may involve standing for long periods of time • No accommodation or travel expenses will be covered • A full induction to UniSport, training, uniform and meals (when on shift) will be provided
