About this opportunity

About Total Environment Centre

Total Environment Centre was established in 1972 and has a record of over 100 successful environment protection campaigns. As a registered charity we have worked on plastic pollution (including plastic pollution awareness; container deposit schemes across the nation; a large, citizen science microplastics project; and much more); climate change through green energy policies and implementation (10 years in the works); biodiversity (including rainforests, the coast and wild rivers) and currently a big effort to protect Sydney's South Western population of koala's - the last remaining growing colony in NSW; and have a long-standing campaign to protect urban green spaces.

Marketing volunteer role

Total Environment Centre is turning 50 years old in 2022, and we are celebrating the past and present achievements through video. We want to honour current and past campaigners, listen to their amazing stories and share it with potential supporters. We would love to create short videos that are shareable on social media and longer videos of about 5-10 min highlighting our environment protection work. A few of our campaigners have been fighting for the environment since the '70s! Think campaigning for the Blue Mountains National Park and rainforests, cleaning up the Cooks River, implementing the container deposit schemes, renewable energy laws, etc. We are also thinking of re-using existing content to re-edit them for social media. Do you know your way around a camera, could help us storyboard and put together these videos, and then most importantly, could help us edit? While we are not expecting you to have any equipment, a fast laptop would make life a lot easier. We do not require any professional experience, but are looking for someone who is keen to use their skills. As we are still in the beginning stages of this project, there is still a lot of opportunity for your creative input.
