About this opportunity

St John SA is a charity that has been supporting the well-being of South Australians for over 135 years. Every day St John SA volunteers attend community events right across the state, providing patient care to event-goers.

Event Health Services volunteers provide first aid care, treatment and support for sick and injured persons in emergency and non-emergency settings as part of a multidisciplinary Events Team.

As an Event Health Services Volunteer, you will provide medical care to those who become ill or injured at events. To achieve this St John SA will provide you with all accredited and non-accredited training you need to help someone and save a life including medication administration, trauma care, resuscitation, and medical observations. Ongoing training is run by local teams to allow you to refresh and update your knowledge and skills.

Volunteering with St John SA, you will have the opportunity to attend a range of events from community fairs and school sports days to the AFL and cricket at Adelaide Oval and live concerts at the Entertainment Centre. Through this journey, you will meet and be mentored by a range of other volunteers from experienced St John Event Medics to Registered Nurses, Paramedics and Doctors.
