About this opportunity

Become a Lifeline WA Volunteer and join our Community Visitors Scheme. The CVS aims to enrich the quality of life of older aged people living in isolation either at home or in Aged Care.

Visits can be spent doing something you both enjoy - chat, reminisce, play board games, watch tv/dvds, or perhaps go for a walk together or an outing.

You'll be matched with someone in your local area and provided with support and training to feel comfortable and confident in carrying out your visits.

Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Others .

The suitable volunteer will have the following attributes:
Be an Australian citizen or have residency status
Good communication and listening skills
Be reliable - able to commit to at least 6 months
Able to start a conversation and engage in small talk
Have a genuine empathy and understanding of older people
An interest in story telling through the generations, reminiscing
Be accepting and non-judging
Able to supply a two personal references - one written and one verbal
Have a current flu vaccination
Over 18 years of age
