About this opportunity

SYC has a relentless belief in people and their potential. We provide services that foster wellbeing, independence and opportunity for all Australians.

We are currently looking for expressions of interest for this position at SYC's Studio West, a group learning environment, located in Seaton Park. It provides an ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) and SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) based learning program, delivered by registered teachers. SYC Case Managers on site provide support to assist with learning engagement and wellbeing development. This program has a literacy and numeracy focus, as well as exploring additional learning pathways, suited to each student's goals. Volunteers assist in this environment adding value to programs and providing intensive support to students.

Volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Training, Safe Environments of Children and Young People Training, must be willing to complete a DHS - Working with Children Check and a Police Clearance, and complete all other relevant training for the role. The cost of these will be covered by SYC.

A high level of patience and communication and a commitment to providing a supportive environment for learning and well-being is essential.
