About this opportunity
We are seeking volunteers who can teach/share their knowledge, skills and the fundamentals of gaining work ready skills. You will be helping residents to gain skills in prepartion to rejoin the workforce, after participating in our womens drug and alcohol rehabilition program. It is important for the women to gain skills and participate in activities that go toward helping them re enter the workforce and community. You will have access to equipment needed to teach small groups of women preparing to return to work, developing job interview skills, producing resumes and written job application skills and employment options.
Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . Driver's Licence (LR) . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
Be a role model and patiently share the fundamentals of getting work ready to participants, for when they leave the program. A commitment to privacy and confidentiality is a must. Good communication skills, non judgemental attitude, maturity and a genuine interest/desire to help people in need. Must have a caring and supportive nature. A desire to share your knowledge and techniques in becoming work ready. Previous experience in teaching and planning classes for small groups. Industry experience at a minium, experience in teaching employment skills desirable. A certificate in training and assessment is advantageous but not required.
Previous experience in working with women and or in the drug and alcohol field would be an advantage but not essential as training options can be discussed.
