Tuckshop Convenor & Operational Personnel
About this opportunity
Tuckshop convenor will be responsible to provide a balance range of nutritional food at a reasonable cost to the students and staff while maintaining a high standard of hygiene in the preparation, storage of food and service.
In addition they will be responsible to coordinate weekly administration of the school tuck shop, supervise tuck shop volunteers.
Key Responsibilities -
- Responsible for food preparation in accordance with smart choices, The Healthy Food and Drink Strategy for Queensland Schools
- Stock take and rotation and ordering stock in accordance with planned menus
- Regular updates with P&C Executive committee members and school representatives and coincide with P&C general meetings held twice per term
- Responsible for counting and recording cash takings and preparation for banking
- Protect food stuff from vermin
- Build good relationships with volunteers and encourage team spirit
- Prepare and manage volunteer roster
- Be responsible for work and health safety and welfare of others in the tuck shop -
- Accepting training opportunities in the area of nutrition, hygiene management of volunteer workers, online ordering and general tuckshop management
The role requirements -
- Assist executive committee with school uniform stock
- Assist executive committee with the maintenance of P&C areas
- Help with reading clubs and changing of Home Readers
- Assist with the planning and execution of school and community events
Additional requirements

Qualifications/ Or Willing to Obtain
- Food handling and Safety Certificate
- School Mandatory Safety Training
- Evidence of any formal qualification in food handling and/or food safety is desirable
Max of 15 hours Breakfast Club - 3 mornings per week (Mon, Wed & Fri) Tuckshop weekly on a Friday, but could sometimes operate for special events
