About this opportunity
Volunteers will take on the following responsibilities for the following areas:
Advocacy Support To support the team, volunteers will look at a variety of services that carers could utilise including; localised services across NSW Area 2, specific localised services that carers may need to access, halls/ community centres that can be utilised for IPPS, or other Carer Gateway programs, training, recreational activities already available for carers in the community.
Administration Typing minutes, saving documents, posting documents, making up carer kits and mail information packages, photocopying, phone calls to organise meetings or educational sessions, booking halls, supporting preparation for educational and other carer or stakeholder sessions etc
Community Engagement Participating in community events, expo’s, holiday programs, carer specialist projects, seminars, community celebrations, such as; Seniors Week, Youth Week, NAIDOC, Carers Week, Mental Health Week/ Month, community education programs. This includes support with planning, delivery, bump in and out, evaluation and other aspects of engaging with the community. You can utilise your skills and help create content for a carer or volunteer newsletter.
Promotion Supporting the team by posting and/ or dropping off carer information, looking for opportunities to support the promotion of carer gateways program ie: Expo’s, disability services, aged care services etc. Developing lists of places to promote the program such as allied health services, community services, disability service providers, aged care providers etc.
