Volunteer Mentor

About this opportunity

We are looking for Volunteer mentors to be matched with young people engaged in counselling at Youth Focus. These mentors will provide a positive role model in a young persons life, helping them to build confidence and skills with the community setting. These 1-1 relationships run for a 12 month period and meet up every 2 - 3 weeks for 2 - 3 hours at a time, depending on the activity. Activities are decided on by the young person and the mentor and can be just about anything at all - with a few exceptions to ensure the safety of both the young person and mentor.

Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate ^*. Working with Children Check ^*.

Potential mentors will be provided full training but need to have a non judgemental attitude and a willingness to be a positive, active listener.

Time Required

2 - 3 hours every 2 - 3 weeks

Reimbursement

Reimbursement for activities and transport costs and security checks are available for the mentor.
