About this opportunity
NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is the lead agency in response to flood, storm and tsunami emergencies. It also provides critical rescue and missing persons search capabilities to other agencies. The organisation is made up almost entirely of volunteers who commit to supporting their community in its time of need.
NSW SES Local Commanders are the organisation’s representatives at a local government level and work with stakeholders across the organisation and in the community to set goals aligned with the NSW SES Mission and Vision. They also provide leadership and support to volunteers in their area of responsibility and oversee the workplans of Unit Commanders (3 in the Yass Hill Tops LGA's).
This role is assisted by the Unit Commanders and their Unit Management Team, as well as a small staff contingent tasked with supporting volunteer Units across south eastern NSW.

Covid-19 vaccination .
This role can expect to volunteer 10 - 15 hours a week. Most of this will occur during the evening. There may be some requirement to attend courses and activities on weekends and occasional weekday meetings if available.Suitable for
