About this opportunity
We are seeking volunteers to assist with a number of tasks within the community garden;
- Attending working bees (weekends once a month approx) to assist with opening and closing the centre and welcoming community volunteers and helpers.
- Attending the centre on a weekly basis to water the garden and/or perform light gardening maintenance.
- Assisting to maintain and care for gardening resources (tools, equipment)
Potential once program is established:
- Potentially assisting gardening groups once established, including showing groups around garden, communicating gardening aims and guidelines, and providing practical support.
You will be supported by the Centre Manager, Network Coordinator and Garden Coordinator (Volunteer) to undertake this volunteering position.
This is a new initiative and is a wonderful opportunity to get involved, meet new people and give back to the Lanyon community. The community garden grows produce for community groups to harvest themselves or for groups to donate produce back to our food hub which supports people in need.
