*Any Thursday* Coast Care Volunteer - Sorrento Beach and Marmion Foreshore

Environment & Conservation Regular - less than 6 months Sorrento WA

About this opportunity

Friends of Sorrento Beach and Marmion Foreshore are restoring 2.5km of high-profile coastal foreshore reserve through the suburbs of Sorrento and Marmion. This area is viewed by thousands of people each week from the shared path and road. Our aim is to bring it back to excellent condition, via planting, weeding and litter collection. We are progressing well towards this goal with native animals returning to their habitat.

Volunteers are equipped and trained to do the tasks required and learn a lot about the coastal environment as they participate. For those studying allied fields, the practical experience is very valuable and we would be very pleased to see you. At times, some volunteers get some paid work to do specific tasks. We also collect marine debris from the beaches, especially after storm events.

We meet every Thursday morning, 7:30am to 9:30am, followed by coffee. We also meet on some Saturday mornings, mainly in winter and spring, starting at 8:00am. Volunteers can select what days they wish to participate and are placed on an email list. Volunteers can unsubscribe at any time

If you would like to be part of this fantastic conservation program, please contact the Friends of Sorrento Beach and Marmion Foreshore.
