Caring for our Coast - Friends of North Ocean Reef-Iluka Foreshore (FONORIF)

Environment & Conservation Regular - more than 6 months Iluka WA

About this opportunity

Friends of North Ocean Reef-Iluka Foreshore (FONORIF) aims to restore the environment back to excellent condition, through weeding, planting, and litter collection. We have progressed well towards our goals with native animals returning to the area.

During summer we conduct surveys for the threaten species - Graceful Sun Moth and conduct guided walks for the public during Spring.

Volunteers are equipped (gloves, hi-vis vests, tools) and trained to do this work and learn a lot about the coastal environment as they participate. For those studying allied fields, the practical experience is very valuable – we would be very pleased for you to join us.

How to get involved – • On the job training and learning – NO experience necessary. • Your decision on how often you wish to attend.

The group meets 4 times a month at the Iluka Foreshore Car Park on: • the first and third Saturday and • the second and fourth Thursday of the month

For a 2-hour work session followed by a morning tea. • April-October 9.00-11.00am or November-March 8.00-10.00am.

• There are no fees or application for joining. • We just add your contact details to the newsletter list. You can unsubscribe at any time. • You can also request to join the group's Facebook page for updates, coming events and to view our large photo gallery.
