About this opportunity

Enrich the quality of life of older people living at home who are socially isolated or lonely, and who would benefit from a friendly Community Visitor to chat with.

Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre is looking for volunteers to visit with lonely or socially isolated people in Trangie, NSW.

You will be matched with an older Australian to call/visit on a regular basis to provide friendship and companionship. Visits are spent doing something you both may enjoy - e.g chatting, reminiscing, listening to music, reading, or going for a little walk.

Visitors usually visit as friends/companions on a fortnightly basis. Phone calls may be made instead of visiting when appropriate, such as during COVID-19 restrictions. You must be aged 18 years and over, are required to undergo a police check, be COVID-19 double vaccinated and provide two referees prior to commencing.


Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *.
