About this opportunity

Other duties may be assigned. On an ongoing basis regular duties include the following:

  • Grant Writing – Solicits and writes proposals and reports for federal, state, city government RFP’s as well as private foundation and corporation RFPs. Persuasively communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders;

  • Conducting prospect research; Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations;

  • Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers; Ensuring prompt acknowledgement of gifts.

  • Major Gift/Donor Support – Produce major donor, board and special category solicitations/ support materials with the intent to retain or upgrade gifts when possible. Works with program staff to develop reports and funding related projects.

  • Cultivates donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of acknowledgment. Organizes individual donor campaigns (e.g., major donors, direct mail, and matching gifts).

  • Database and Records Management – Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged, excel and paper records of contributors and grants.

  • Maintain security and quality controls. Generate queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed;

  • Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports.
