Leisure Buddy with Terry

About this opportunity

Trevor is in older gentleman and is looking for a Leisure Buddy who will take him on short excursions within his local community. Outings may include visits to a local coffee shop for coffee or a drive to the park to look at the scenery.

Trevor will require a Leisure buddy who has a drivers license and access to a car as he can only walk short distances.

Trevor has a great sense of humour and loves a chat. He has many interests including gardening, trivia and music.

No previous experience is required. Competencies include a warm, friendly and patient approach as well as empathy, good communication skills and a great sense of humour.

Reliability and a willingness to commit to very regular contact for a minimum of 12 months is a requirement.

Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (F) .

NDIS Worker Screening Check and statutory declaration.
Provide contact details for 2 professional referees.
Attendance at an interview with coordinator.
All applicants must be over 18 years of age.

Time Required

Fortnightly outings for 2-3 hours on weekends as arranged by mutual agreement between volunteer and buddy.

Training

Mandatory Group Induction Training at Inclusion Melbourne office in Armadale Vic plus online National Disability Insurance Scheme training.
