Volunteer Carer / Bus Assistants
About this opportunity
St George Community Transport are seeking Volunteer Carers / Bus Assistants to ensure that our clients have a safe and enjoyable experience. STGCT provides various programs for clients such as Social Outings, Shopping and taking clients to appointments.
Our Volunteer Carers work closely with the drivers to provide our clients with a safe supportive and comfortable transport experience, this includes: • Supporting clients to access and exit the vehicle safely • Providing companionship and conversation to clients during transportation or whilst on social outings • assisting the driver to load walkers and shopping bags into the vehicle
We are looking for people with great communication skills and are good at helping, reassuring, and providing companionship to our clients.
If you enjoy looking after the elderly and having fun, and if you are a kind and compassionate person who would like to give some of your time to our seniors, we would love to hear from you!
We provide $30 a day to our volunteers to cover any out-of-pocket expenses.
Our services support people to retain their independence. Many of our clients would not leave the house without our support. If you are keen to make a difference in our community, we would love to hear from you.
Orientation and training is provided.

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
NDIS Worker Check
Our services operate Mondays - Fridays. Flexible to suit volunteer - must be available minimum 1 full day(s) per week.
