About this opportunity

A Health & Human Development (HHD) workshop is being developed by International Needs Australia (INA), a DFAT-accredited international aid and development organisation. INA has been committed to building innovative partnerships for community wellbeing and empowering women and children in their work for almost 50 years.

INA works in Southeast Asia, South Asia & Eastern Africa with local, innovative partners focusing on three key areas: Education, Health and Livelihoods. We work with the poorest communities in our identified regions to eliminate poverty and its causes, regardless of affiliation.

The Health and Human Development Program is based on Outcome 2 in Unit 4 HHD of the Australian Curriculum for Years 11 and 12 in the HHD subject.

We are designing lessons and providing resources for teachers and students contains information about sanitation, water-borne diseases, malaria, Human Development Index, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the interconnection of the SDG’s, malnutrition and health situation in low-income countries. The classes can be delivered by INA staff and/or by a HHD teacher in the classroom/online. The classes contains learning activities, stories from our health projects in Nepal and Ethiopia, and multimedia inputs.

At INA, we hope that students will engage with this session to help them better understand the health situation in low-income countries.
