About this opportunity

The Role:

We are looking for a dedicated Volunteer Social Media Manager who will be working specifically with Facebook, Twitter and potentially other platforms, to augment our brand and nurture profound online communities. The Social Media Manager will create and post thought-provoking content, designed to create an interactive relationship between external stakeholders and the organisation. The candidate will also be required to gather and assess data from platforms to develop further campaigns.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with our marketing department to develop social media campaigns that help to achieve our organisation's objectives
  • Develop, organise and post engaging content to Facebook and Twitter
  • Assist in creating and editing written, video, and photo content for our social media channels
  • Collaborate with our marketing team and other social media managers to maintain a unified brand voice across all our platforms
  • Monitor and evaluate trends in social media to maintain relevance
  • Interact with users and respond to messages, inquiries, and comments
  • Evaluate analytics and generate reports on key metrics within social media platforms
  • Assist in the creation and management of a social media marketing/influencer marketing strategy

Essential Criteria:

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms, and/or willingness to learn through guides and courses
  • Exceptional social listening skills
  • Very detail-oriented, with impeccable grammar and writing prowess
  • Aptitude with understanding unique current and future social media trends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria:

  • Professional experience working with social media platforms (specifically Facebook and/or Twitter) or using social media management tools
  • Cert IV or higher in social media management
  • Experience with digital media editing tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Copywriting/content creation experience

Time Required

10-15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule available to suit your commitments.
