Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About this opportunity

This position will play a pivotal role in the growth of Opportunities Australia as an education and employment provider. We are a fast growing Not For Profit that has got over 70 volunteers.

Ideally you will have experience with staffing programs and plans that lead to attracting and retaining high calibre team members whilst delivering on client and stakeholder expectations. You can perform online but if you are based in Sydney, Perth or Brisbane it would be a bonus.   Tasks and duties

Assist with advancing and fine tuning all aspects of our education, mentoring and employment programs and then have management of this unit

Develop and integrate staffing programs to attract and retain a high calibre, motivated and productive team that is aligned with our current ethos and culture

Collaborate with the CEO on strategic and action plans for company’s short and long term growth and evolution

Develop and manage budgets for all areas of the business reporting through to you

Ensure all program initiatives align with Opportunities Australia’s core values and culture

Provide leadership to engender a continual improvement mindset whilst giving volunteers the latitude and comfort to provide and take initiative in their roles

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role
  • 10+ years’ experience in management
  • Advanced organisational leadership skills
  • Budget-focused mindset
  • Excellent written, oral and stakeholder communication skills
  • Energetic, honest, diligent, supportive, adaptive and resilient
  • Ability to energise staff and maintain a happy productive work environment
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, finance, marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce, Business Administration or relevant field
  • Excellent relationship building and organisational skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem solving
