Toy Librarian helper
About this opportunity
We need friendly and approachable helpers. Duties include:
- receiving returned toys and checking items are as should be
- helping members to borrow new toys
- general maintenance of toys in the library.
The Cairns Toy Library has been operating for over 40 years - we are just like a normal library but for toys instead of books. Cutting down on consumption and waste and giving children in Cairns access to toys for every age and stage, to enhance play and therefore development.
We are a community run organisation and dependent on volunteers, funding and fundraising to help keep us running.
Benefits of being a regular volunteer include paid membership covered - so you too can join in the fun of borrowing toys for your family; relatives; grandchildren etc. we support and can honour Centrelink requirements for volunteers.
Time Required
As many sessions as you can make. Sessions run every Tuesday; Friday and Saturday 9-11am.
