About this opportunity

Volunteers will help in Dialysis work with staff of the Dialysis unit to ensure that patients and visitors needs are met, and that the experience of staying in the ward is effectively recorded for quality assurance and improvement for future services.

Duties include:

  • Sitting with families and patients and advising them about the available facilities in the hospital and in the unit, where the amenities are in the unit, and identifying where patients’ information brochures are kept.
  • Assist with tea and coffee, giving patients blankets if needed
  • Lending an ear if needed, being compassionate, caring and polite at all times
  • Assisting ward staff with miscellaneous tasks
  • Re-stocking patient fridge with vitamin drinks
  • Other duties as requested

A National Police Clearance is required and will be provided at no cost to the volunteer.

Time Required

This role operates between 8am -9.30am and 2pm – 4pm Monday to Sunday
