Cleaning Manager and General Assistant

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Woongoolba QLD

About this opportunity

Set 'In the Canefields' in what was once Pimpama Island, the hall (Community Centre) is a historic building, built by locals in 1917 as a meeting place and dance hall to service the community.

We are seeking someone who wants to join our team, and who enjoys seeing things well presented and clean. Without our volunteers our centre could not function, and your role would be integral in the impression we create as our guests and patrons visit.

We work primarily Mondays and Tuesdays but that can change dependent on our needs and events at the centre. We are passionate about the history of our building and about having it sustain it's existence and thus preserve it for the use of generations to come. We are a group where if something needs doing we all tend to get in and do it.

In recent years the Centre has increased in profile and activities, this has meant the continual expansion of this role. You would have specific responsibilities in respect of the condition of the building and regular cleaning, and will generally take control of the internal presentation of the building and its equipment. Other tasks are more of an as needed basis, depending on what is currently required for events, functions or activities.
