About this opportunity
Fitz’s Challenge is coming up on Sunday 24th October, and we’ll be hosting approximately 1200 riders + spectators in our event village at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra. At Pedal Power we're looking for as many volunteers as possible to help us run a successful 31st edition of our great cycling event.
The roles we need to fill include (but are not limited to): • Staffing our checkpoints, and handing out food and drink to riders • Helping Pedal Power staff and members of the organising committee with the preparation of rider packs • Assisting riders with their registration • Assisting in the set-up of our event village • Putting up road signage to help ensure safe passage of riders and drivers • Marshalling traffic (must hold a Traffic Marshall qualification) • Greeting riders as they cross the finish line and enter the event village • Driving the broom wagon – ensuring riders who are unable to finish can get back to the start/finish line safely. • Assisting in the pack up of the event village.
By volunteering at Fitz's Challenge, you'll be contributing to Canberra's longest-running cycling event. We'll also be providing lunch, a post-event drink, and a dinner in the weeks after the event for all our hardworking volunteers.
There are a limited number of roles available on Wednesday September 29th, Friday October 1st, and Saturday October 2nd. Please contact the Pedal Power office via email for more information regarding these roles.
We're looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, love the outdoors and are willing to help contribute to the 31st running of Canberra's most prominent cycling event.
