About this opportunity

You will bring your bright, bubbly personality to provide patient and carer comfort at the newest health facility in the Hunter Region.

The role will be patient, carer and visitor support from the front door, to the lifts and into the wards. Being a new facility means people visiting can be quite confused and need your friendly smile and easy directions.

You must be willing to have annual influenza vaccinations and have a minimum of 3 COVID vaccinations to keep you safe and ensure our staff and patients are safe. A private meeting with staff health will be arranged to give you all the requirements.

We are registered with Centrelink as a volunteer location and can help achieve the required 30 hours a fortnight of volunteering.

Covid-19 vaccination . Flu vaccination . Medical Check *. National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.

We will provide all training and support plus the National Police Check and visit to Staff Health. You must provide evident of double COVID-19 vaccination. You should have your application for the Working with Children Check before applying. A uniform is provided with a deposit of $20 (fully refundable when returned).

You will need to meet with Staff Health and provide proof of 3 COVID vaccinations plus other standard vaccinations to help keep you safe.

Training

You will receive a buddy and will be training in WHS, hand hygiene and other key aspects to keep you and the patients safe.

Reimbursement

A sandwich and sweet are provided to volunteers who work more than 5 hours plus coffee and tea is provided for morning or afternoon tea.
