- Volunteer in business hours during the week and/or weekends
This role gives you the opportunity to brighten the life of an older person living with Dementia by visiting them regularly at a Residential Aged Care Home, as part of the Community Visitors Scheme run by Catholic Healthcare.
As a volunteer you will commit to visiting a client a least once a fortnight for around 1-2 hours.Visits are spent chatting about common interests or doing an activity you both enjoy - this could be going for a short walk, catching up for a coffee/tea, crafting, knitting, gardening, watching TV, reading aloud, playing a game, etc
Sharing your time and interests with an older community member living with Dementia will help enhance their mental, physical, and emotional well being.
To be eligible to volunteer for this role you will need to be over 18 years of age, and a National Criminal Police Check will be completed by Catholic Healthcare as part of the volunteer induction process. In flu season you will need to have had a flu vaccination.

It will be desirable if you have interest and compassion in working with people living with Dementia.
