Dog & Cat Coordinator - SAFE Hedland

Animal Welfare Regular - more than 6 months Across: South Hedland WA, Port Hedland WA

About this opportunity

SAFE Inc. is WA's largest volunteer-based animals rescue & rehoming organisation. Since it began in 2003, SAFE has rehomed 32,400+ animals and has grown to include eleven(11) subsidiary branches across Western Australia. SAFE Inc. is the WA arm of Companion Animal Network - Australia CAN (formerly known as Animal Welfare League Australia, AWLA). We work collaboratively with local government, other rescue organisations and vets to check, treat and desex animals in our care.

To continue saving animals we need enthusiastic and organised Coordinators to intake and manage our animals. You will need to possess good communication skills in order to liaise with Case Managers and vets. You will need to be able to work alone, take direction from the Branch Coordinator, have good organisational skills and regular access to the internet as all our processes are web-based.

This is an ongoing permanent role needed to work closely with the vets and case managers to advertise animals, ensure adoption fees are paid, organise flights and vet visits. The role would suit someone with flexible working hours or an understanding supervisor. We can offer a friendly team environment, occasional puppy and kitten snuggles and a sense of fulfillment in knowing you’re helping animals in need. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
