Foodbank Victoria is seeking enthusiastic, friendly and committed Warehouse Assistant Volunteers to join our team.
We are the largest provider of food relief in Victoria. As demand for food relief in Victoria grows, the continued support of volunteers remains vital to our success. We highly value the contribution of our volunteers, and ensure all volunteers have a safe, engaging and rewarding experience.
Location: These roles are based at our Yarraville warehouse.
Commitment: Our needs span the whole week - Monday to Friday, and we offer two options to volunteer. Weekly Volunteers- able to commit on a regular basis, maybe 1-2 times a week. We are currently seeking extra assistance on Thursday and Friday.
About the Role: Tasks and responsibilities may include: • Packing food orders • Sorting, labelling and repacking food donations • Sorting and packing fresh produce • Packing hampers
About You: We are looking for a volunteer who: • is physically fit and comfortable with manual handling • able to complete repetitive movements and standing for extended periods of time • comfortable lifting, bending, twisting and turning • able to lift up to 10kgs • has excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills • is reliable and able to fulfil the commitments of the role • has excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills • is able to work both independently and as part of a team • is comfortable talking to groups in an engaging, respectful, patient and inclusive manner

Additional requirements
Heavy Lifting .
9.00am to 2.30pm, 1 day per week on a weekly basis. This is an ongoing role so we’re looking for someone who is committed to volunteering with us regularly over a longer period of time (6+ months).
