About this opportunity

The volunteer Archivist Assistant will support the archival project team by examining, organizing and collating historical records for the purpose of populating our historical database. The volunteer Archivist Assistant will begin working through Parkerville Children and Youth Care's photographic collection and further assist the team in collating information from a number of documents within the appropriate database and assisting with the digitization of paper records and photographs.

This role would be ideal for someone seeking a career in library and information services, records management, or similar, especially existing students looking for valuable work experience prior to obtaining their certificate or diploma. This role will also allow the volunteer the opportunity to suggest processes for improvement and look into value add solutions.


Additional requirements

Heavy Lifting . National Police Certificate *.

The volunteer Archivist will need to display display a high level of experience in the Microsoft Office suite, have a strong level of attention to detail and have the ability to lift and move heavy boxes containing documentation.
