Bicycles for Humanity Melbourne is a voluntary, not-for- profit organisation that collects disused bicycles and ships them to communities in need. The bicycles change lives forever by improving basic mobility for access to health care and education and increasing economic productivity. The container then becomes a pre-built bicycle workshop providing employment opportunities.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Lead to join our Marketing and Communications team to design and implement our social media strategy.

Your role will see you collaborating with all areas of the organisation to drive awareness, engagement and promote our brand on all our social channels.

Our social media, communications and marketing team is looking to build on our current reach. You will have the opportunity to expand our existing supporter base, reaching new areas and people for awareness, support and growth.

Your energy and enthusiasm to enable further growth, to achieve our targets, and work flexibly to support our committee will be highly regarded and warmly welcomed.

Bicycles for Humanity is located in Melbourne, VIC. Your volunteering location is flexible; work online from wherever you are.

Responsibilities: The Social Media Lead will: ● Design, develop and administer our social media content to deliver on the Bicycles For Humanity Melbourne strategy ● Create communication plan for the year ● Maintain Facebook / Twitter / Instagram with up-to-date content delivering on the calendar of events and ad hoc requests as needed ● Enhance Bicycles for Humanity Melbourne brand and build strong online communities through our various social media platforms ● Providing advice to all areas of the organisation on social approach to content, targeting and tracking, and taking ownership of social campaign performance. ● Support the marketing / campaign manager with marketing campaigns, ensuring design and layouts are consistent, optimised and mobile-friendly ● Collect and review social media data utilising analytics tools such as Google analytics to report back to the committee

Key Skills: ● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write for multiple platforms and audiences. ● A strong understanding of social media software tools and analytics. ● Experience developing, executing and evaluating social campaigns. ● Expertise in creating content (text, image and video) that appeals and engages our audience and aligns with our broader marketing strategy.

Desirable skills: · Content creation, copy writing, layout design and infographic production experience · Experience with content creation tools like Canva · Familiarity with Wordpress · Experience working with community groups and other NFPs or charities
