In Home Tech Support for Devices

Seniors & Aged Care Regular - more than 6 months Busselton WA

About this opportunity

Do you love your tech devices, lap tops, IPads, mobile phones? Are you a caring and passionate communicator, a good listener? Would you like to assist others, particularly house bound or isolated people? We have older clients in Busselton, Quindalup and Cowaramup, that would love a visit in their homes to support them to learn more about their device and be shown how to get the most out of their devices such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc.

Volunteers will provide one-on-one support to clients in their home for the duration of the program.

Activities you may support them with include: • Using their devices to search for and access emergency or important information. • Dealing with any common issues or problems with their devices. • Communicating with others using emails, messages, or video calls. • Increasing their confidence in using technology to explore their hobbies and interests. • Working towards any technology goals they may have.

Your involvement assists clients feel more in control of how to access information as well as being less afraid of technology and they find ways to connect and also have fun. You don’t have to be an absolute whiz on these devices. What clients need, is patient people to explain things that we take for granted, like understanding icons, emailing, texting, accessing information, downloading apps, shopping safely on line… If you have 2-3 hours a week and are 18+, live in Busselton, then we'd love to hear from you. Police clearance required and is paid for by the organisation.
